Rotating equipment, run on judgement, not on luck.
Precision Maintenance Australia is an engineering consultancy — not a labour-hire shop — built around rotating fleets in Australian heavy industry. We work the gap between reactive firefighting and a real predictive programme, on the assets that keep your plant moving.

What we deliver
Engineering judgement, on the assets that don't get to fail.
PMA operates as a consultancy because each rotating fleet has a different duty cycle, BOM and contractual availability target. We scope below the surface — to the bearing, the alignment, the lube route, the failure history — and we leave you with a programme, not a PDF.
- 01
Rotating-equipment engineering
Pumps, fans, compressors, mills — engineered against duty, not just specification. We work the numbers behind availability and total cost of ownership.
- 02
Power transmission
V-belts, chain drives, gearboxes and couplings sized, aligned and rated for the actual load envelope. Hand-off between mechanical and process, not guessed from a nameplate.
- 03
Root cause & failure analysis
Forensic work on catastrophic failures and chronic infant-mortality patterns. Findings stay in your RCFA register and feed back into your asset strategy.
- 04
Lubrication audits
Walk-downs of lube routes, intervals and contamination control across the rotating fleet — so oil analysis and greasing routines match the asset, not a stockroom shelf.
- 05
Asset-reliability programmes
RCM, KPIs and routines handed to your crew. Scope staged against production risk, not against a fixed retainer — and engineered to live after we leave.
- 06
Training — shaft alignment & bearing maintenance
Shaft alignment, bearing change-out and lubrication fundamentals delivered on the asset, with the people who run it. Workshops that transfer the practice, not a slide deck.
How we engage
From a single incident to a managed reliability programme.
Most engagements start with one failing asset and grow into a programme for the surrounding fleet. We stage scope against production risk, not against a fixed retainer.
1 · Diagnose
A walk-down of the asset, the duty and the failure history. Lube samples, an alignment baseline and an RCFA log review before scope is locked.
2 · Engineer
RCFA, design review on power transmission, lube route and route-to-rebuild. Findings documented, not buried in a slide deck.
3 · Embed
Routines are handed to your crew, with on-site training on alignment and bearing maintenance so the gains stick after we leave.
Service areas
Seven capability pillars.
Each pillar is an engagement we deliver against the asset. Tap one to see how it’s scoped on the services index.
Where we work
Embedded in the Bowen Basin industrial ecosystem.
Coking coal keeps Australia moving and keeps core reliability programmes funded. PMA works across coal operators and contractors on BMA, Anglo American, Glencore and Thiess-managed sites, plus the rail and port link-up that frames the Basin.

Beyond reactive firefighting
Start an engagement
Bring us one asset. We'll show you what the rest of the fleet is costing you.
Director Les Horn reviews every enquiry. Send the asset, the duty cycle and the symptom — we'll come back with how we'd scope it and what a first engagement looks like.
